In today's fast-paced technological landscape

High-speed data transfer and fast signal rise time are the norm...

...the ability to design circuits boards that can effectively manage signals with high harmonic content is the key to ensuring reliable performance and EMC compliance.

Getting EMC compliance right from the start begins with how you lay out the circuit board.

For today’s hardware engineers and electronic designers, first-pass compliance is crucial.
It makes electronic development more reliable, cheaper, and more robust against interference.

Carefully positioning components, managing transition times, and optimizing trace routing, lays the groundwork for products that consistently meet electromagnetic compatibility and signal integrity requirements, all while staying on schedule and within budget.

Auto-routers and simply copying connections from the schematic don't always produce the best results for your circuit board's electromagnetic performance.

Designing circuit boards that meet EMC standards, CAN FEEL OVERWHELMING

❌  Dealing with EMC problems is like stumbling around in the dark. You're throwing in a ferrite here, a capacitor there, hoping something will work. But it's like hitting a brick wall every time.

❌ It's like trying to solve a puzzle that never seems to have all its pieces. Do I need a shield? Or maybe just an earth cable? You try every trick in the book, but nothing seems to make a difference. It's like dealing with some sort of black magic.

❌  The clock is ticking, but the answer is still out of reach.
The systems keep resetting, the ESD test keeps failing, radiated emissions is now your worst nightmare... Panic creeps in as the deadline draws near. You're fighting against the clock, feeling the stress build up with every second.

❌ Every mistake costs you a lot of money. And as launch day approaches, you have fewer options. It's like watching your cash disappear as the stress piles on. And just when you think you've fixed that conducted emission problem, another frequency peak shows up unexpectedly, setting you back weeks behind!

EMC Failed.png

That's why many hardware engineers and product designers feel incredibly frustrated and demoralized when trying to develop circuit boards that meet EMC compliance.

Here’s why I don’t want you to be one of them:

✅ Only after miserable failures, I found out that you can use preventive measures and save valuable time by avoiding continuous trips back and forth to the lab and lengthy troubleshooting sessions. This allows you to save both time, and money along the way.

✅ Learning effective EMC and Signal Integrity strategies right from the start, will enable you to design circuits more efficiently and meet project deadlines more consistently and effortlessly, without the need of expensive back and forth to the EMC lab.

✅ Understanding why some products fail and others succeed, will empower you to solve EMC challenges at the right time (not when is too late), providing you with cheaper and better solutions, making you more confident in your design abilities and to fix problems.

✅ By promptly addressing and preventing EMC issues, you can steer clear of expensive recalls, rework, or redesigns, ultimately saving valuable time and money in the long run.

✅ Deeply understanding the relationship between your design and the EMC performance of your circuit board provides peace of mind, reducing stress and allowing you to set yourself apart from other engineers.

Implementing EMC & Signal Integrity best practices will result in higher-quality products with improved reliability and performance, enhancing your reputation as a skilled engineer or designer.

Meet The Founder

Hi there, my name is Dario,

My family has been involved in the Electrical and Electronics field for 4 generations. Although I have been in close contact with this field since I can remember, I officially began studying electronics when I was 14, which led me to earn my first electronic technical expert diploma in 2010.

Later, I obtained an International Electronic Engineering degree and also received the certification as an Interconnect Designer from the Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits (IPC).

Fast-forward to today, I've had the fortune of working for both small and large companies, including prestigious institutions like ETH Zurich (one of the top 10 universities worldwide) as a technical expert and lead hardware engineer in state-of-the-art projects.

From years of hands-on learning, tons of facepalm failures, and hard-earned successes, I've fine-tuned my skills in Hardware Engineering, especially in EMC and Signal Integrity best practices, helping others achieve success in this field.

Now, I'm on a mission to share my expertise, guiding other passionate engineers and companies in crafting electronics that stand out with impeccable EMC and Signal Integrity performance.

Throughout this journey, I have developed numerous systems and circuit boards for various companies.

Whether it's digital and mixed-signal boards, ultra-low power systems, or high-power applications, I've encountered them all.

While developing these systems significantly helped me in serving other companies, students, and clients worldwide with their electronic circuit boards...

...I had the opportunity to realize that what truly made a difference for both me and them was everything based on fundamental principles that are consistent across all industries and applications.

Good results in EMC & Signal Integrity are not about crossing fingers and wishing for luck...

and let me tell you a secret... is not about 'black magic' either! 😉

This is not how successful electronic circuits are built.

What is great news for us, is that the same principles have been proven
to work consistently across different industries, independently of the application.

EMC Passed.png

Only after I had the chance to test these techniques, I've decided to share my successes and focus on helping others design circuit boards for EMC & Signal Integrity. I soon recognized the need for a better system to assist those who struggle to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

That’s when the PCB Hackers Academy was born...
